DO WE NEED TO BOOK OUR VISIT IN ADVANCE?
Yes. All group visits must be booked in advance, even if you are planning a self-guided visit. Groups or school classes arriving without a prior booking may be refused entry due to fire safety regulations and visitor capacity limits. Please remember to book your visit in advance.
ARE WE ALLOWED TO TOUCH THE SCULPTURES?
Although it may be tempting, visitors are not allowed to touch the sculptures, their plinths, the paintings, other objects on display, or the walls. While everything may appear very durable, the natural oils on our skin can gradually damage and alter the surfaces of artworks and other materials. Please keep at least 30 cm away. In our education room, you will find a block of marble that you are welcome to touch.
HOW CAN WE HELP MAKE THE VISIT ENJOYABLE FOR EVERYONE?
We kindly ask groups to move calmly and respectfully throughout the museum. Our building has wonderful acoustics, which can be fun to experience, but out of consideration for other visitors, please keep voices low while exploring the galleries.

CAN WE EAT OUR PACKED LUNCHES AT THE MUSEUM?
Unfortunately, packed lunches may not be eaten inside the museum.
When the weather permits, the best place to enjoy your lunch is on the museum's large front steps. You are also welcome to use the square at Christiansborg, where you can eat under the covered colonnade.

CAN WE BRING WATER BOTTLES INTO THE GALLERIES?
Water bottles are not permitted in the museum galleries. You are welcome to have a drink of water in the cloakroom area.

WHAT DRAWING MATERIALS MAY WE USE IN THE GALLERIES?
For booked educational programmes that include drawing activities, we will provide all necessary drawing materials.
For self-guided visits, classes should bring their own pencils. You are also welcome to use coloured pencils, but markers, charcoal, and chalk are not permitted in the museum galleries.

DO WE HAVE TO PAY ADMISSION?
The following groups receive free admission to the museum, including their teachers and educators:
- Daycare centres, nurseries, and kindergartens
- Primary and lower secondary schools
- After-school clubs and leisure centres
- Folk high schools (Efterskoler)
- FGU programmes (Preparatory Basic Education)
- Upper secondary education: general upper secondary schools (Gymnasium), HF programmes, and vocational education and training (VET)
Teachers and educators are also entitled to a free preparatory visit when planning a lesson or educational activity at the museum. You can book a preparatory visit here.
ADMISSION FOR HIGHER EDUCATION AND ADULT EDUCATION GROUPS
Groups from higher education institutions and adult education programmes pay the standard museum admission fee for educational visits.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO IF WE NEED TO CANCEL A BOOKED LEARNING PROGRAMME?
Our educational programmes are in high demand, and we often have to turn away classes because all available time slots are fully booked. If you are unable to attend a booked programme, we kindly ask you to cancel as early as possible so that another class can use the slot.

IS THERE A CLOAKROOM?
In the basement, we provide cloakroom lockers for school classes and other groups of children and young people. The lockers are located in our education area.
Locker keys can be collected from and returned to the ticket desk. Bags larger than A4 are not allowed in the exhibition galleries. If teaching is taking place in our education area, we kindly ask you to be considerate when collecting or returning your belongings. Thank you.
WHERE ARE THE TOILETS?
The toilets are located in the basement. Please note that, unfortunately, there is no lift in the museum building.
