You can study the individual documents https://arkivet.thorvaldsensmuseum.dk/documents or read recapitulated articles https://arkivet.thorvaldsensmuseum.dk/articles. You can search the personal biographies https://arkivet.thorvaldsensmuseum.dk/people for persons in Thorvaldsen’s extensive network or look into what the sculptor was up to from day-to-day as well as which works he made when in the Chronology https://arkivet.thorvaldsensmuseum.dk/chronology. In short – delve into it and learn more!

The vast and innovative research and dissemination project was initiated back in 2004, and The Thorvaldsens Museum Archives contributed to Thorvaldsens Museum winning the Danish Museum Prize in 2008 for, “[the] innovative and consistent work to make the rich collections and archives of the museum more accessible to the outside world”. Since then the Archives has only grown in scope and momentum.

The work of the Archives in its current project period is supported by 15. Juni Fonden, Augustinus Fonden, Beckett-Fonden, New Carlsberg Foundation, Novo Nordisk Foundation, and Aage & Johanne Louis-Hansens Fond.
