Explanation
- The Casa Cenci – or the Casa del Portinaio – was for many years mistakenly thought to have been the home of the great Renaissance artist Raphael, and so the building served as a motif for various of the painters of the time. In Thorvaldsen’s collection of paintings there is a further picture of the building by Heinrich Buntzen. Unfortunately, the building was destroyed in 1849.
