Ordering photos

Photographic reproductions of works in the Museum can be bought and ordered for inclusion in publications etc.

Orders should include information on the publication concerned and the work reproduced. The Museum can, for an additional fee, arrange for new photographs to be taken of works not previously photographed.

Conditions for reproducing photographic material:

• The photograph must not be reproduced cropped, and alterations cannot be made to it without the Museum’s permission.

• Reproductions must carry the name of the artist, the title of the work, the name of the photographer, and an acknowledgement stating that the work is the property of Thorvaldsens Museum.

• A copy of the publication in which the reproduction appears must be sent for free to the Museum Library unless other arrangements are made.

• The photograph may not, without permission from the Museum, be passed on to others, copied or used for other purposes than that for which permission has been given.

• Electronic storage of the material is only permitted during the production period, i.e. all digital copies of images belonging to the Museum must be deleted immediately after use.

• In case of certain photographs a fee for the reproduction is payable to the photographer.
