THREE STORIES

With the exhibition THREE STORIES the design bureau NORRØN presents three landscape models of three architectural works with three site specific stories as the starting point, Giants of the Sea (Havets Giganter), The Blue Viking Fortress (Den Blå Ringborg) and Barometer of the Ocean (Oceanets Barometer).

The exhibition THREE STORIES has been created specifically for Thorvaldsens Museum. The plaster casts enter into a dialogue with the art and architecture and inscribe themselves in the unique space that is created between Thorvaldsen's sculptures and Bindesbøll's powerful architecture.

With this exhibition NORRØN stresses the importance of the narrative. The large white landscape models accentuate and destil the contours of the landscape, while the works inscribe themselves as colored icons in the landscape and reinforce its inherent qualities. The architectural models may be perceived as abstractions over the landscape, the nature and the art work.

Gigants of the Sea (Havets Giganter): A tranformation of The Fisheries and Maritime Museum in Esbjerg
The Blue Viking Fortress (Den Blå Ringborg): A reinterpretation of The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde
The Barometer of the Ocean (Oceanets Barometer): A satelite to the Energy Museum at Kalvebod Fælled

The exhibition can be seen in the entrance hall at Thorvaldsens Museum until 21 November 2017.
