
Thorvaldsen was also a collector. So apart from his own works the Museum also houses his extensive collections of paintings and antique objects, books, coins and much more.
Finally, the Museum also contains several of his private belongings such as clothes, decorations, spectacles, snuff boxes and a selection of his tools.
All of this is exhibited in the setting of Michael Gottlieb Bindesbøll’s unique architecture right in the heart of Copenhagen.
Thorvaldsen’s Collection of Antiques is on the Museum’s first floor.
