Learn how to draw

In January 2012 the artist Henrik Leach Hansen will start two new classes in the museum’s popular course in drawing.

Course contents

In this course, participants will be introduced to anatomy, composition, proportion, plans etc. and will learn some fundamental drawing techniques that will be useful tools in the art of drawing. And of course, the teaching will start out from Thorvaldsen’s sculptures and the museum galleries, which you will be able to get to know by “close reading”.

The drawing course is under the direction of the graphic artist and painter Henrik Leach Hansen and is for anyone who would like to improve their drawing skills. The course also addresses those who have considered applying for admission to courses in aesthetic subjects such as design, architecture and painting.

Time and Place

Teaching will take place in the permanent exhibitions in Thorvaldsens Museum.

Thursdays 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm
from January 26 to April 26, 2012 (except during the winter holiday, February 16, and the easter holiday, April 5).

Sundays 11.00 am to 2.00 pm
from January 29 to April 29, 2012 (except during the winter holiday, February 19, and the easter holiday, April 8).

Please note: The sessions are in Danish.

Price

The charge is DKK 1200 for taking part in the course, which will cover 12 sessions. Participants in the course will have an admission ticket to the museum that is valid for the period of the course.
The minimum age for participants is 14.
